The Wood Key
Guibourtia demeusei, G. pellegriniana and G. tessmannii — three separate West Central African species traded under the one name, growing from southern Nigeria and Cameroon through Equatorial Guinea and Gabon into the Congo basin; pinkish red to darker reddish brown with purple or black streaks, sharply demarcated from a pale straw sapwood, frequently figured, and darkening toward reddish brown after cutting.
