Brosimum rubescens, from tropical South America — Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas and into Panama; a bright, vivid red with straight to slightly interlocked grain and fine texture, a pale yellowish sapwood seldom present in imported stock, and it darkens toward brownish red with exposure to light.
