Cordia elaeagnoides of Mexico's seasonally dry Pacific slope, with allied Central American Cordia entering shipments under the same name; yellowish to golden brown with dramatic dark brown to almost black stripes and swirls, strongest on flatsawn faces, an oily or waxy surface feel, and it darkens with age.
