Terminalia superba, from tropical West and Central Africa; light yellowish to golden brown deepening with age, over a pale sapwood that is not clearly demarcated — “black” limba names the stock carrying grey to nearly black streaks and veins and “white” limba, or korina, the plain stock, both cut from the same tree.
