Entandrophragma cylindricum, a tree of West and Central African rainforest from Guinea and Sierra Leone east to Uganda; pale yellow to whitish sapwood against a heartwood that is pinkish when freshly cut and darkens to reddish brown, with interlocked grain that reads as a regular stripe, most pronounced on quartersawn faces.
