Thuja plicata, from southern Alaska down the Pacific coast to northern California with a disjunct inland population from southeastern British Columbia into western Montana; heartwood reddish to pinkish brown with random darker streaks and bands, straight-grained and coarse-textured — despite the name it is a Cupressaceae and not a true cedar (Cedrus).
