Chamaecyparis lawsoniana, a cypress rather than a true cedar, native only to a narrow strip of southwest Oregon and northwest California; light yellowish brown heartwood passing into a pale yellow-brown to near-white sapwood with no clear boundary, over an exceptionally straight grain of fine, uniform texture.
