The Wood Key
Picea abies, from northern and central Europe including the whole Alpine arc, where it is the only spruce in the native flora; creamy white with a faint yellow or reddish cast, fine and even in texture with consistently straight grain — “Swiss” names the part of the range a billet was cut in, not a separate species from European, German, Italian or Carpathian spruce.
