Diospyros mun, given by Kew as native from Cambodia to southern Vietnam although the timber reaches the trade as Vietnamese and Lao; medium brown, often with a reddish cast and dark brown to black streaking throughout, very fine and uniform in texture, and a sharply demarcated pale yellow to white sapwood.
