The Wood Key
Picea glauca — the name North American forestry still uses, though Kew now treats it as a synonym of Picea laxa — growing right across the boreal forest from Alaska and the Yukon east to Newfoundland and south into the northern United States; creamy white with a hint of yellow, fine and even in texture, with consistently straight grain and little colour contrast between sapwood and heartwood.
