Martin Guitars
Founded in 1833 and still building in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, Martin effectively invented the American flat-top — and its Custom Shop is where that lineage still gets made by hand, one guitar at a time. On the Atlas you'll find only that end of the company: built-to-order Custom Shop instruments and the Authentic Series' pre-war reproductions (hide glue, hand-shaped bracing, VTS-aged tops), not the standard catalog.
The Music Zoo
On Long Island in Farmingdale, The Music Zoo has been a destination for collectible and custom-shop instruments since 1994, its close factory relationships bringing in runs made to the shop's own specifications. The acoustic room leans to the top of the majors' catalogs — Martin Custom Shop flat-tops, Gibson Custom Shop and Murphy Lab reissues, and top-tier Taylor — with Huss & Dalton and Goodall adding a boutique thread. Comfortable playing rooms and a collector's eye make it a rare full-line shop with real high-end acoustic depth.
