Olson Guitars
The Denver Folklore Center
Harry Tuft opened the Folklore Center on East 17th Avenue in 1962, modelling it on Izzy Young's shop in Greenwich Village, and it became the room Denver's acoustic scene organised itself around — Judy Collins, Doc Watson and Ramblin' Jack Elliott all passed through, and Swallow Hill Music grew directly out of it. The shop moved to South Pearl Street in 1993 and passed in 2023 to Ian Dehmel, who had worked there for years before buying it. The bench is as much the point as the wall.
