Santa Cruz Guitar Company
Santa Cruz Guitar Company has built guitars in Santa Cruz, California since 1976, when Richard Hoover founded the shop to bring violin-lutherie traditions into acoustic guitar building. Each top is tap-tuned by hand in a strictly climate-controlled workshop. The shop's connection with Tony Rice — the Tony Rice Model is modeled on his pre-war Martin D-28 — anchored its reputation in bluegrass flatpicking, and the catalog has expanded over five decades into a deep custom-shop operation where most builds are individually specified rather than spec-built.
Danville Music
Danville Music is a full-service shop in Danville, California, in the East Bay's Tri-Valley, serving Bay Area players since 1989. A PRS Signature and Taylor Premier dealer, it carries a broad electric and acoustic floor — Tom Anderson, Suhr, Music Man, and G&L among the electrics — but for boutique acoustic shoppers the heart of the room is a real high-end flat-top selection: a deep Santa Cruz shelf (recent stock into the low five figures), Collings, and Taylor, with rarer builds passing through on consignment. Service is the shop's stated point of pride — in-house luthiers regarded among the Bay Area's best, complimentary setups, and free adjustments for as long as you own the guitar. Locally owned and active in the regional music scene, Danville is the Atlas's first Bay Area dealer and a natural in-person stop for Northern California acoustic shopping.
