Built by Ho Zen Yong of Hozen, trained under Ervin Somogyi — The Somogyi school
Avenir is the accessible-tier boutique line from Stonebridge Guitars International (SGI) — the Canadian company that spent years as the North American home for Czech builder František Furch before branching into its own designs and collaborations. The guitars are designed in Ontario and Quebec by SGI's in-house team and hand-built in Singapore by luthier Ho Zen Yong, who studied voicing under Ervin Somogyi and individually voices every top. The line leans into the qualities fingerstyle players prize — responsiveness, balance, and dynamic sensitivity — with premium tonewoods, bone nuts and saddles, walnut appointments, Florentine cutaways, and arm bevels across the range. Because the Avenir models are produced as a core line rather than one-off commissions, they bring genuine boutique build quality at a fraction of a full custom's price.
