Collings Guitars
Collings Guitars come out of Austin, Texas — a shop that started in a Houston apartment in 1973 and grew into something close to an institution. Bill Collings was the kind of builder who would reject a guitar over a tolerance most players couldn't feel, and that standard became a Collings trademark: crisp, articulate, pin-sharp tone that records beautifully and shows up in studios as often as on stages. Bill died in 2017, but the team he trained kept building, and the line has held — Collings still means what it has always meant.
Danville Music
Danville Music is a full-service shop in Danville, California, in the East Bay's Tri-Valley, serving Bay Area players since 1989. A PRS Signature and Taylor Premier dealer, it carries a broad electric and acoustic floor — Tom Anderson, Suhr, Music Man, and G&L among the electrics — but for boutique acoustic shoppers the heart of the room is a real high-end flat-top selection: a deep Santa Cruz shelf (recent stock into the low five figures), Collings, and Taylor, with rarer builds passing through on consignment. Service is the shop's stated point of pride — in-house luthiers regarded among the Bay Area's best, complimentary setups, and free adjustments for as long as you own the guitar. Locally owned and active in the regional music scene, Danville is the Atlas's first Bay Area dealer and a natural in-person stop for Northern California acoustic shopping.
